It has been a challenge in making the decision to have a Facebook Fan Page or not to have one. It seems that irrespective of my opinion (that Facebook is a thing of the past), I am told by some of my most trusted friends and business professionals that I may just have to submit myself to the natural order of things, and have a Fan Page.
What is this love/hate relationship all about with Facebook? Well, to tell you the truth, I feel that being at the cusp of having my novel published (about a year away albeit), and finally developing a workflow I can commit to with my photography, that I might be late to the table with this Facebook thing.
Not true, I'm told.
Apparently, Facebook is still being used by many photographers, authors, and creatives. Ok, but is it really relevant to a non-wedding photographer? Don't authors have their own website that they use to communicate with their readers through? Who wants to add/follow/like/feed/read, etc., etc., etc., another person anyway? Isn't everyone just burned out?
The answer I keep hearing is, it doesn't matter what you think, because other's may be committed users of these social sites and use them as their connection to everything and everyone outside of their daily life. You mean they may not visit my website everyday!? Probably not (que disappointed face). I'm a big boy, though, and I'm sure I'll get over it. In the meantime, feel free to stay tuned in whatever way fits into your lifestyle.
You win for now Facebook ;)
